Supporting the Polish Music Centre 2026
Supporting the Polish Music Centre 2026 is a project funded by the Senate of the Republic of Poland through the Senate Polonia 2026 Programme, delivered in cooperation with Fundacja Młode Pokolenia. The project strengthens the long-term sustainability of the Polish Music Centre in Peterborough and ensures that children, young people and families continue to benefit from accessible, high-quality music education rooted in Polish language and culture.
By supporting the delivery of our regular programme, the project enables us to create a vibrant learning environment where participants develop musical skills, confidence and creativity while building lasting connections with their cultural heritage and local community.
What We Deliver
🎶 Melodynki – early years music and movement sessions introducing young children to music through singing, rhythm and play.
🎤 Polish Music Ensemble – group singing and music-making sessions that encourage teamwork, confidence and performance skills.
🎭 Musical Theatre Classes – weekly sessions combining singing, acting and movement, helping young people develop creativity, communication skills and confidence while strengthening their Polish language.
🎼 Student Concerts – three community performances each year where students celebrate their achievements, perform for family and friends, and gain valuable stage experience.
Expected Impact
Through this project we aim to:
Increase access to high-quality music education for Polish children and young people.
Strengthen Polish language, culture and identity through creative learning.
Build confidence, creativity and performance skills.
Create opportunities for children and families to connect through music.
Encourage long-term participation in cultural and community life.
Strengthen the sustainability of the Polish Music Centre and expand opportunities for future generations.
Why It Matters
For many families living outside Poland, maintaining a strong connection with the Polish language and culture is an important part of children's identity and development. Music provides a joyful and engaging way to learn, communicate and build lasting friendships.
By supporting our regular programme throughout the year, this project ensures that the Polish Music Centre remains a place where young people can discover their talents, celebrate their heritage and become active members of a thriving Polish community in the United Kingdom.
We are grateful to the Senate of the Republic of Poland and Fundacja Młode Pokolenia for their continued support and commitment to strengthening Polish education and culture abroad.
