Senat Polonia 2025 - Supporting the Polish Music Centre

Supporting the Polish Music Centre is a project funded by the Chancellery of the Senate of the Republic of Poland through the "Senate – Polonia" Programme. The project supports the ongoing development of the Polish Music Centre by providing free group music sessions, a community choir and performance opportunities that strengthen Polish language, culture and community connections through music.

Supporting the Polish Music Centre

Supporting the Polish Music Centre is a project co-funded by the Chancellery of the Senate of the Republic of Poland through the "Senate – Polonia" Programme, with the support of the Association "Wspólnota Polska." The project strengthens the long-term development of the Polish Music Centre in Peterborough and helps ensure that Polish children, young people and families continue to have access to high-quality music education and cultural activities.

The project supports the day-to-day operation of the Centre, enabling us to provide regular music programmes that strengthen Polish language, culture and identity while creating opportunities for children and families to connect through music.

What We Deliver

🎶 Free group music sessions for children and young people, encouraging creativity, confidence and musical development.

🎤 A Polish Community Choir, bringing together people of different generations through the shared joy of singing and celebrating Polish musical heritage.

🎼 Student concerts, providing young musicians with valuable performance opportunities while bringing the community together to celebrate music and culture.

Expected Impact

Through this project we aim to:

  • Increase access to high-quality music education for Polish children and young people.

  • Strengthen Polish language and cultural identity through music.

  • Create opportunities for intergenerational participation and community engagement.

  • Build confidence, creativity and performance skills among young musicians.

  • Bring families together through concerts and shared cultural experiences.

  • Strengthen the long-term sustainability of the Polish Music Centre and its programmes.

Why It Matters

For many Polish families living in the UK, maintaining a connection with their language, culture and traditions is incredibly important. Music provides a powerful way to bring people together, helping children develop a sense of identity while creating lasting friendships and community connections.

Thanks to this support, the Polish Music Centre continues to be a place where children discover their talents, families build relationships, and Polish culture continues to flourish for future generations.

We are grateful to the Chancellery of the Senate of the Republic of Poland and the Association "Wspólnota Polska" for making this project possible.
